Maddede, Kanunun değişik yerlerinde geçen terimler tanımlanmak suretiyle, gereksiz tekrarların önüne geçilmek istenilmiştir.

In the application of this Law; a) "Child" means a person who has not completed the age of eighteen, even though he or she become major in an earlier age; in this context, 1. "Child in need of protection" means a child whose physical, mental, moral, social and emotional development and personal security are in hazard and who has been neglected, exploited or been victim of a crime, 2. "Juvenile pushed to crime" means a child about whom has been made investigation or prosecution with the allegation that he or she performed an act which has been defined as an offence in the laws or a child about whom it has been decided to security measure because of an act performed by him or her, b) "Court" means juvenile courts and juvenile courts of heavy penalties, c) "Judge of juvenile" means a juvenile court judge who has rendered judicial decisions of measure to be applied about juveniles pushed to crime and the children who are in need of protection except those about whom prosecution have been initiated, d) "Institution" means the official or private institutions where the child who is within the scope of this law is cared and protected and the decisions of measure about him or her have been rendered are executed. E) "Social working official" means members of the profession who have been graduate of institutions which provide education in the fields of psychological counseling and guidance, psychology and social service.
