Bankruptcy Continued
In regards to the qustion about protected assets in a bankruptcy, can a person keep their wedding rings or any other types of jewelery that are not valued much? And what specifically is considered personal property? Can they keep tables, chairs, beds, couchs etc. or a computer if it is needed for work? And is the only property aloud to be taken is that of the one filing bankruptcy? For example, if the husband files bankruptcy, will only the husbands possessions be taken and not the wife's? Thank you very much.

Personal property such as necessary clothes, tables, chairs,beds,couchs and kitchenware cannot be seized.However refrigerators, ovens, televisions and computers (if not required for work) can.
The bankruptcy or seizure incurs personal liability.Spouses cannot be considered legally liable.But if there are joint ownership the share of the bankrupt could be seized. |

A refrigerator or oven does not count as personal property? How would one store food or cook?
