Burial Of Foreigners İn Turkey

Hello,

Can you please tell me if foreigners are to buried in separate cemetaries in Turkey, if they are not Muslims? I am a foreigner with "Christian" listed on my national identity card, married to a Turk (Muslim) and wondering if we would not be allowed to be buried together.

Recently i watched tv news mentioning about a muslim man who was buried in same cemetary (christion cemetery) with his christian wife. non the islamic rules neither the turkish laws restrict couples to be buried in same cemetery

I am the orignial poster of this topic. I guess it must be that it depends where you live in Turkey and what the local customs are. Yesterday a long-time foreign resident died where I live (a small town) and it turns out that there is a small "foreigner's cemetary" adjacent to the regualar cemetary, and this is where all foreigners are buried. I don't know what would have happened if he had had Turkish citizenship though, my Turkish husband doesn't know either.
