Soru Civil Data Registration and Financial Reporting

Dear all,

I am working as a research assistant for a company called the Global Trust Center, situated in Sweden, Malmö. We work with issues regarding the protection of the individual from a digital world perspective. I have been assigned to look at Turkish legislation regarding Civil Data Protection and Financial reporting in Turkey. I came across this forum by searching on Google and would appriciate it if anyone could answer a few questions regarding Turkish legislation that governs Financial reporting (annual accounts, who has to sign the report, which public authority recieves and supervises the annual accounts from Turkish Enterprises). And which Act governs the registration of births and deaths. Is there a national Id number in Turkey, if so, which authority issues and handles this?

To save time, and if possible, any directions to these Acts in English is greatly appreciated, and I can then take if from there.

Best Regards
Fredric Skargren

Hello: I am in receipt of what I think is a birth registration form (Mernis Dogum Formu). I see the Turkish parent's Kimlik number, however, I cannot determine which is the ID# of the dependent. How many digits does an ID number have and what is the Turkish translation for ID# so that I may identify it on the form?. Thank you kindly.

It is 11 digits and named as "TC Kimlik Numarası" or "Vatandaşlık Numarası" in the form.

The only Kimlik# appears next to the father's name, but none for the dependent. Am I to understand the birth was NOT registered if no kimlik# was given to the dependent?. Next to Kimlik# at the top of the form is blank and immediately below it, it says: NUFUSA KAYITLI OLDUGU.

Mandatory usage of "TC Kimlik Numarası" in legal forms is recent in Turkey so it might also indicate that TC Kimlik Numarası of the owner is not determined so ignored and left blank while filling the form.

If he were not a Turkish Citizen, he wouldn't have a TC Kimlik numarası but in this case he wouldn't have such a form too so I wouldn't think this is the case here.

Phrase "Nufusa kayıtlı olduğu" means "Location he is registered to" so considering he is "registered", it should also mean his birth is registered and also he is a Turkish Citizen.

At least this is what it looks like with the given information..
