Unfortunately, the conflicts between the landowners and the builders started to be quite common. As far as I understand, there is a contractor agreement between these parties and the builder did not fulfill his obligations against the landowner hence he is now in breach of contract. In such case, the landowner could take the matter to the court to claim the deeds of the completed properties (if this is satisfactory) or claim compensation against his /her losses. Since you are not registered at the title records, you would not be able to avoid from this situation. However, it is important to review the contractor agreement to clarify your legal standings as should there be no breach of contract on the builder side then you would be able to claim your deed both from the builder and the landowner. Otherwise, you could only claim compansate only from the builder through a court case.On the other hand, you may also choose to complete the remaining construction instead of the builder should you have contract with the builder beforehand.
