Lawsuit
We recently moved to Turkey and were involved in a car accident. The man who we hit said he is taking us to court to sue us because of his severe injuries. If he wins and gets a large sum, can he take all of our possessions from us or force us to sell our property if we do not have enough money to pay him? Please help. Thank you.

The answer is simple, yes! However, the amount of compensation he would get merely depends on the total days he was absent from work and his income. You should bear in mind that the punitive damages is not a Turkish law concept. In any case you will have to pay his expenses regarding doctor, hospital, nurse etc. (IH)
