Can anyone provide some advice please?

I was born in the UK to a British mother and Turkish father. I've always lived in the UK and don't speak Turkish. I've only been to Turkey on holiday.

Back in 1994, I received a Turkish ID card from the consulate. It's very old-fashioned and probably out of date.

I'm now 40 years old. If I want to live in Turkey in future, would I need to do military service? Could I pay to avoid it? Do you know how much it costs and what I need to do?

I'm not sure if I've broken the law by not doing military service, but I only recently became aware of the requirement.
